Bearded Men on Parade

Ok so went to the cinema this week to see a film and as I was climbing the stairs to see my chosen film I stopped dead in my tracks. I could not take my eyes of the handsome bearded man who captured my whole attention. Granted he was a cardboard cut out but captivating nonetheless! I was so distracted by him I failed to notice how obvious I was being and it was not until I heard laughter and my friend in the distance asking me what I was doing that I came out of my trance. The theatre manager was laughing at me but I did not care this bearded beauty was without a doubt drop dead beardtastic!!!!

So this later led me to think that perhaps I should start a beard of the month slot where I could recommend bearded beauty's to other beard lovers so they to can appreciate these beautiful bearded men on parade!!!!!!

So the bearded beauty who captivated my attention on this particular occasion was one other than Jake Gyllenhall in his new film role, 'Prince of Persia' Lets just say beard mania has reached hollywood and when hollywood get there hands on something they do it right and boy have they done it right!

I defy any one who says that this man has not reached manliness and hotness with this new beard. I am not disputing that he was not a good looking man before but now he commands my attention.

So to hollywood I say, 'I solute you.'

To beard readers send me any potential 'Beard of the Month' candidates you might have to see if they can make it on to the Bearded wall of fame!

ooooohhhhhhhh Mr Gyllenhaal your a beard lovers dream and don't go changing a thing!
'we love you just the way you are'

Ok so this is just a quick post. I just want to big up all the men and I mean men who recently helped to support movember by growing a tash. Not only is it for a great cause but also helps men look good and stylish. So if you did not take part in it this year I suggest that you prepare yourself for nest year movember time and start to think about that fantastically tash you could be sporting in november time of next year. I have to say that I have seen some very spiffing tashes over the last few weeks some that would make your head spin!!!!!
Tashtastic :-)

A Beard too far!

Ok so I heart beards, as we all know. Obviously this is no secrete, hence the blog site. However sometimes men can take it, 'A Beard Too Far'. Now this is not to say I don't want all you lovely beard wearing men to get rid of the facial hair, but you have to give it all the love and attention that you would give the hair on your head.

So when has it gone too far. When we beard loving ladies go from, 'ooohhh he's lovely' to 'yuck what is that on his face!'.When you get this latter reaction you know the beard needs some TLC. If your not pulling in the ladies with your facial hair charm chances are you are doing something wrong with it an you have gone more father christmas/homeless man than hottie with the beard.

The power of the beard should be able to help women gravitate towards you rather than push them away. The power of the beard can put a man who on a scale of 1-10 might normally sit at a 4 but grow a beard and trim it right he might push himself up to a 8/9 it can be done!!!

When I was around 12 I met a boy a nice boy. However at 12 I was in no way interested in boy's. They were just the horrible creatures at school who picked on my curly locks and taunted me. I wanted little if nothing to do with them. However this boy I would see from time to time as I got older and older. He seemed like he was interested in me and personality wise we got along swimmingly but for me visually it just did not work and I never saw him as being more than 'just a friend'. However around the age of 23/24 he grew a beard. The first time I saw him with a beard I was thinking to myself, 'where have you been all my life.' Where indeed. He had been right under my nose for the last 11 years and all because of a beard I know found myself drawn to him. The beard had made the boy a man in my eyes. Sadly I was too late for this beard and he went to a much better home, yet this does show that I beard worn right will work in a man's favour.

Example one look at Brad Pitt's beard/goat/disaster. I never thought anything could make such a fine looking man look unattractive. He has managed to knock him self down the 1-10 scale instead of pushing him up it!!!!

So this is just a word of warning to all you who think you can just jump on the bearded band wagon. Thought, love, care and attention has to go in to the creation of a beard. You have to nurture it and treat it like you would anything else that your proud of. If you do you will reap the rewards. If you don't you'll just end up wondering were it all went wrong. So 'Beard Prepared' that's my advice to you.

Ok so I have been a little bit side tracked and not able to write a beard post but that does not mean that the beard was not at the fore front of my mind because it has been very much so.

So I am going to share with you my first beard/tash experience. These are the moments in my life when I first new that I Alexis Louise Giboin loved Facial hair.

As a child I used to go to my gradparents on a Friday night to stay over. This consisted of my sister and I watching a musical that my gangan, aka grandad, had taped. As we started this weekly ritual many a strange crush for a girl of the 80's developed. Amongst my earliest was Frank Sinatra in 'On The Town' and a man, who due to my Dallas obsession, I still have the hots for these days is one Mr Howard Keel.

So upon watching Seven Brides For Seven Brothers I fell for the charms, or should I say manly charms, of Howard keels character. When you first see him he is sporting a rather full beard. Whether with just a tash or a full beard his facial hair makes me feel like I am looking at a real man, a man that could protect and look after you.

As a child I remember thinking that is what a real man looks like. Later on in the film he shaves and is left with a rather 'spiffing' tash. This equally qualified him in my mind to be the strong man figure he up held in the film. It was not until my obsession with Dallas that I remembered my love of Howard Keel and how I regarded him to be what a real man should look like.

This theory is further supported by my love for 'Aragon' in The Lord Of The Rings.

Once again one is lead to believe that this is a man that can do anything, a man that you can put your trust in, a man that will deliver. You gain this belief and trust in him because of his facial hair. As only a real man could look and act as he does. Whether you choose to accept this or not it is a fact. Do you think that if Orlando Blooms character , 'Legolas' looks wise was Aragon that the audience would believe that this clean shaven 'girlie' boy could deliver and save man!!?? I think not. It is easy to believe that Aragon can achieve all this as one believes that it is dealing with a man.

So as you can see a beard separates, 'The Men From The Boys'.

And for all of you who have not listened to the beard song please, please do.....if this does not sway you to the love of beards I fear all is lost for you..

The beard. The mans little black dress.

Ok so after yesterdays post I am very excited to start writing about my 'beard' and 'tash' theories of which there are a few you can be assured. In fact my little head was spinning last night after posting my first blog on where on earth to begin as I feel I have quite a bit to say on the subject of facial hair. My bubble was almost burst however as I arrived at work this morning and a friend of mine had found an article published by the 'Telegraph' who had tried to jump on my bearded band wagon!!! what an outrage. Nevertheless I shall not be discouraged as I did not agree with any of their 'bearded' theories and am now more than ever determind to prove these wrong!! So as they say in the theatre, 'on with the show'.

So the 'telegraph' article entitled, 'The secret life of the beard' tried to suggest that due to 'Beckham' sporting a beard in last Wednesday night football game he has now made facial hair 'trendy' and as a result we will be seeing it in abundance. Well I cant say that I object to more men catching on to the trend but just because 'Beckham' does it does not mean that we forward thinkers had not already embraced the beard many moons ago!

One only has to walk around east London to see that facial hair has become somewhat of the fashion accessory for the last few years! Enter exhibit one the lovely bearded man in the picture. He has been sporting his beard for two years now perhaps more. It has become somewhat of a necesity to him. Without this beautiful beard he would feel somewhat not all together complete. Much like a girl leaving the house without a bag or her makeup on. His beard is not there for mere decoration for the fourth coming winter months to keep his face warm, it is as much apart of him as any other item of clothing or accessory one might feel they can not leave the house without. In fact when I asked him about his beard he said that without it he would not be able to get dress in the morning as he would not feel proprely clothed without it. There is more to the beard than meets the eye. Although for us ladies it is a facial delight for men who choose to wear the beard or the tash of there own accord, it is in fact the mans version of us ladies 'little balck dress'. That just through the growth of facial hair a man can feel like we ladies do in that 'little black dress' for all occassions. Lets face it men do not have much in the way of clothing to allow them to feel like this. They have to put up with a pretty basic wardrobe and there is not much for them to experiment with like us ladies have. That is where the beard comes in. It allows them to style themselves and feel as thought they have more control over their own 'finished' look allowing them to stand out in the crowd.

So to sum up the beard is more than there for our viewing pleasure it is also a must have for those men who see it as more than a covering for the winter but see it for what it really is a key component to a mans wardrobe, aka 'the little black dress'.

With all that said, however, it is truly just a delight for us secret beard lovers to behold for whatever reason a man chooses to grow it.

beard watching and tash spotting.

so this is my blog. I am writing this basically so that I have an opportunity to take photo's of men with great facial hair. Because in my day to day life I have come to realise that it is the little things in life that give us pleasure, right now that is boys with beards or tashes.

So I am inviting you to join me in a spot of, 'beard watching and tash spotting' as I record those who I meet on a day to day basis who brighten up my day!

So first victim up is my my lovely friend David. I got to spend a lovely evening with him going to watch Old Children. Not only was he sporting a very fine beard but as I glanced around the room it was full of trendie facial hair!!! So got me thinking how I would like to share these finds with my fellow beard and tash lovers. Think it is only fair to share the finds so we can all get enjoyment out of it!.

Right I will be aiming to post one story and one picture of my facial hair finds daily so you to can have a little sushine in your life. I think that there is a little bearded loving inside of all of us.
